Commissioned by the Arts Council of Wales, MONA productions created this exhibition video for ›Sownd‹, the site-specific presentation by Manon Awst and Dylan Huw representing Cymru yn Fenis / Wales in Venice as a Collateral Event at the 61st Venice Biennale of Art. The project is a partnership between the two artists and their collaborators—the Welsh galleries Oriel Davies in Newtown and Oriel Myrddin in Carmarthen.

Taking place at the Istituto Santa Maria della Pietà in Castello, ›Sownd‹ sparks a dialogue between the wetlands of Wales and Venice, forming new collaborative pathways for sculpting language and material. In this video, the two artists, as well as Steffan-Jones Hughes (Curator, Oriel Davies) and Louise Wright (Head of Visual and Applied Arts, Arts Council of Wales) offer insights into the sculptural environment that combines organic materials, found objects, texts, and sonic and architectural interventions in response to the historic exhibition site.
