Therme Art is an art initiative working with internationally renowned and emerging artists, designers and architects to commission and develop large-scale, site-specific creative projects. In addition, they actively host their ongoing Wellbeing Culture Forum talks program at various major art fairs, biennials and other prestigious art events around the world. In 2017, MONA was hired to consult on the foundation, strategy and rollout of Therme Art which launched in October 2017 at the Royal Institution in London.
During the initial development of the Therme Art Program, MONA managed its’partnerships with Serpentine Galleries, Design Miami/ and the British Council, and advised on communications and programming content for each of them, including talks with Serpentine Galleries Artistic Director Hans Ulrich Obrist, architects Francis Kéré and Peter St John, CEO of Pace Gallery Marc Glimcher, artists Arthur Jafa, the Haas Brothers, Studio Drift and Torkwase Dyson, and fashion designers Virgil Abloh and Grace Wales Bonner, among many others.
MONA also developed and managed the communications, event planning, and video production for various Therme Art’s partnership events in New York, Basel, Dubai London, Venice and Miami, among others. MONA continues to manage all video production for Therme Art, creating video content for social media and web use, documentation of events and talks, project and event highlight videos, as well as managing live-stream productions.
