In celebration of musician and performance artist Peaches’ 20-year stage anniversary, the Kunstverein in Hamburg and the Summer Festival at Kampnagel have cooperated to exhibit two different facets of the musician and performance artist’s work.
Kunstverein in Hamburg presents ›Whose Jizz Is This?‹ from August 9th–October 20th, 2019, the first institutional solo exhibition of the artist, featuring new sculptural, photographic, film and text works touching on topics of sex, feminism, queerness, gender, and new millennium politics in what Peaches calls »a deconstructed musical in 14 scenes«.
In cooperation with the Kunstverein, the Internationales Sommerfestival at Kampnagel presents the world premiere of ›There’s Only One Peach With The Hole In The Middle,‹ a futuristic stage happening, featuring over 30 musicians and performers, including special guests such as New York drag rapper Christeene and London-based aerial performer Empress Stah.
MONA worked with Peaches’ studio to document and create a multi-faceted series of video content to promote the historic exhibition and live show. Video production included creating behind-the-scenes teasers and an overview video of the exhibition Kunstverein, as well as a promotional video, live show teasers for social media and full documentation of the performance at the Kampnagel Sommerfestival.
