A leading art institution in Norway and beyond, MUNCH is one of the world’s largest museums devoted to an individual artist and home to the largest collection of works by Edvard Munch. Across 13 floors of galleries and performance spaces, the museum showcases the breadth of Munch’s artistry alongside contemporary art and international exhibitions as well as a wide-ranging program of cultural events. Since 2024, it also honors artists as critical voices in society with the annual MUNCH Award.

MONA was commissioned by MUNCH to produce an exhibition video for the 2025 MUNCH Triennale in Oslo, as well as a studio visit with the MUNCH Award 2025 honoree Samia Halaby in New York City. In the video, Halaby discusses her visionary practice spanning more than six decades, from explorations in abstract painting to experiments with early computer animation that established her as a pioneer of digital art. The MUNCH Triennale video showcases views from the exhibition and its event program, along with insights from curators Tominga O’Donnell and Mariam Elnozahy and a selection of participating artists.
