The Mondriaan Fund—a public cultural fund and driving force behind the visual arts and heritage sector in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom—commissioned us to produce exhibition videos and social media reels for the Dutch Pavilion at the 60th and 61st Venice Biennale of Art in 2024 and 2026.
At the 61st Venice Biennale in 2026, Dries Verhoeven and Rieke Vos present the performance and architectural installation ›The Fortress‹, using the Dutch Pavilion itself as an integral part of the work. In our video, Verhoeven and Vos, together with pavilion commissioner Eelco van der Lingen,
discuss the project, which takes its location and context as the starting point for exploring the impulse toward self-preservation amid global uncertainty.
›The International Celebration of Blasphemy and the Sacred‹, presented by Cercle d’Art des Travailleurs de Plantation Congolaise (CATPC) at the Dutch Pavilion in 2024, showcased CATPC’s efforts to reclaim depleted plantation lands and restore the Sacred Forest in Lusanga, DRC. Our video offers an overview of the exhibition, with insights from members of CATPC and their collaborators, Renzo Martens and Hicham Khalidi.
