MONA’s ongoing collaboration with Deichtorhallen Hamburg⁠—one of Europe's largest art centers for contemporary art and photography⁠—includes a series of commissioned videos created for three group exhibitions in 2024 and 2025. For ›Survival in the 21st Century‹ (May 18–November 5, 2024), we produced studio visits featuring Yalda Afsah, Paul Kolling and Trevor Paglen, providing insights into their exhibited works and broader artistic practices. Our studio visit with Isaac Chong Wai for ›States of Rebirth‹ (February 21–August 17, 2025) similarly explores his works in the exhibition alongside his wider creative process. Our latest studio visit features Monica Bonvicini, whose work was presented in ›How’s My Painting?‹ (March 1–September 7, 2025).

She reflects on her long-standing practice, exploring evolving themes, the role of materiality and language, and the position of painting within her multidisciplinary oeuvre.

Most recently, we were commissioned to produce a series of videos for the series ›(CON)TEMPORARY CONDITIONS‹, featuring Heba Y. Amin, Mark Sealy, Wolfgang Ullrich and Tobias Zielony. Created on the occasion of the reopening of the House of Photography at Deichtorhallen Hamburg, the series brings together artists, photographers and scholars who share their perspectives on the current state of photographic practice.
