The Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung in Berlin houses the world’s largest collection on the Bauhaus (1919–1933), the most influential school of architecture, design and art of the 20th century. From April 17 until October 4, 2026, during the renovation and expansion of their headquarters, the Bauhaus-Archiv presents the exhibition ›New Woman, New Vision: Women Photographers of the Bauhaus‹ at Berlin’s Museum für Fotografie. We were commissioned to create an exhibition trailer and social media reels that introduce the first comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the women photographers of the Bauhaus and their pioneering contributions to the field of photography.
In the exhibition trailer, Prof. Dr. Brigitte Franzen (Director of Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung) and Kristin Bartels (Curator, Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung) discuss this group show that brings together more than 300 photographs by 32 artists from the Bauhaus-Archiv and highlights the school's spirit of experimentation, the empowerment of women photographers and ideas that continue to resonate today. The presentation is complemented by works from the Institute of Design in Chicago (the New Bauhaus). Works by contemporary artists Kalinka Gieseler, Caroline Kynast and Sinta Werner enter into dialogue with the historical positions on view.
