London-based Autotelic Foundation champions creation and debate at the nexus of art and technology. With the organization's support, Alva Noto (Carsten Nicolai) brought his signature minimalist precision and rhythmic intensity to Berghain on September 24 and 25, 2025, presenting a new body of work alongside older material accompanied by large-scale LED visuals.

Commissioned by Autotelic Foundation, we produced a video and a series of social media reels featuring Nicolai. Ahead of his two audiovisual performances at Berghain, we visited the artist and musician in his Berlin studio, where he reflected on his work as Alva Noto, the interplay between sound and image in his practice, and his long-awaited return to Berlin’s iconic nightclub.
